Problem: 

  • RCC structure damaged by corrosion of reinforcement over a prolonged period
  • RCC slabs in toilets were badly damages, spalling of concrete from height created safety hazards for student

Solution:

  • Anticorrosive treatment done on reinforcement and additional rebars introduced wherever required
  • Severely damaged beams and slabs were rebuilt with thixotropic mortar and micro-concrete and were wrapped using 900 GSM Glass Fiber
  • External portion of building was re-plastered and coated with waterproof paint
  • Job was completed in phases with proper isolation after school working hours, ensuring safety

Problem :  

  • Cracks were found in slab during construction in one of the buildings

Solution:

  • Cracks were opened up with grinding and upper and lower face crack openings were sealed with epoxy putty
  • Cracks were grouted under pressure with low viscosity high molecular weight thermoset grout thereby filling the through cracks.
  • The slabs with higher intensity of cracks were treated with bi-directional glass fiber wraps

  • RCC Structure of school building badly damaged by corrosion of reinforcement
  • RCC chajjas were badly damaged
  • Spalling of concrete from height created safety hazard for students

Solution:

  • Anticorrosive treatment done on Reinforcement
  • Columns are strengthening using 900 GSM glass fiber
  • Job was completed by ensuring all safety precautions

Udayanchal school, Godrej Vikhroli

Problem :

  • The area is located near a creek due to which corrosion was high
  • Corrosion of rebars and spalling of concrete was observed on columns and ceiling slab areas.
  • External columns were mainly affected due to corrosion

Solution :

  • All loose concrete on RCC elements was chipped off
  • Reinforcement was treated with rust converter and protective coatings
  • Migratory corrosion inhibitor was applied and additional reinforcement was introduced
  • Sections were rebuilt using micro-concrete and were wrapped with a layer of carbon fiber wrap
  • The elements were plastered and protective coating was applied
